But my life means nothing to me. I only want to finish the race. I want to complete the work that the Lord Jesus has given me. He wants me to give witness about the good news of God’s grace.
It is when we stand on and stand up for what we believe that others see our faith. Many of us say "we believe..." and yet our actions contradict our statement of faith. This is usually about what we want to believe or have been told we should believe this statement we have heard, but our heart and our mind are disconnected. When this happens, even though it might be truth in statement, it is not our truth. A truth we know and accept completely as our own. A persons statement of a truth can be a truth of God that is completely true. However, unless it is a truth we too accept as ours it cannot set us free.
When we stand on our faith with consistency and steadfastness our worldly virtues begin to be replaced with God’s character. When we make a choice to stand on what we believe we are accepting God's wisdom for our life. We are allowing this wisdom to influence the active choices we make in our day to day life, often without understanding. As we grow, we are applying God's truths in our life and we begin to gain knowledge with understanding of how and why these wisdom's from God are so effective.
It is when we stand on our faith with the hope of a future we cannot see that we are able to persevere. We are able to stand because we can trust our God. We are not relying on our own strength and the determination of our will to succeed. We are trusting God's Word and the promises He has given us to endure. When we persevere we are actually making forward progress in spite of our circumstances. We are leaning on the knowledge that "this to shall pass."
Father God, today we ask that You help increase the vision we have for our life. Help us to expand our thinking and depend on the size of our God and not the size of our own abilities. Help us to be truly driven by our heart for You and our understanding that You have our back. Let us be driven by our faith in You and not led by our common sense. Give us the courage to try as we seek Your will, Your wisdom and Your Heart as we ask not just "what" but "how" in all that we do. Thank You for Your patience and willingness to meet us exactly where we are at today. Thank You for giving each of us what we are missing to succeed in receiving Your best for us this day. Amen
