God's treasure for us.

1 Corinthians 2:7
"We speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began"
Seeking wisdom is like seeking a hidden treasure. When we are looking for a treasure, especially treasure on which our life depends, what do we do?
We don't give up after five minutes. We keep on mining. We keep on digging. We keep on searching. We do this because it is as if our life depends on it. So we are persistent, committed, and disciplined in our search for this treasure. This is our truth when we are seeking the wisdom of God.
Proverbs 2:4-6
"… if we look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then we will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding"
True wisdom of God comes from His Living Word. We are to be resolute in studying the Word of God in order to discover the truth it contains. When we really are serious about learning how to live life to the fullest, then every time we mine the Word of God, we will discover treasure, and the more we mine, the more treasure we discover. The more of God's treasure of truths we can make our own; the more free we become in every area of our life.
There are said to be layers of learning in the Holy Bible. This is why we can read a passage so many times and, "suddenly" we have a new depth and meaning to our understanding of what it is saying. Simplified, here are some examples:
Gospel of Mark = Milk, God is God. It is simply what it says, a is a and b is b.
Gospel of Luke = Meat, the spiritual side with a hint of more than is being presented. This is like the parables for learning, distinguishing the world’s ways from a kingdom perspective.
Gospel of Matthew = Dinner, connecting of scriptures, helping with life applications. This is like the homilies we hear from the pulpit; helping us to connect several scriptures with an application for living life according to God's wisdom for our lives today.
Gospel of John = Dessert, the mystery is revealed, connecting heart and mind to God's truth for His children. The secret or the mystery requires an understanding of God's heart for us, not just the knowledge of God. This is personal revelation that helps us connect the heart of God with the Word of God.
For those of us who do not spend time diligently seeking wisdom from the Holy Bible; the ones who read it without comprehending it; even for us who memorize it without applying it to our lives; we are missing the true treasure that comes from the Word of God.
Fact and fiction: The Holy Spirit leads us into all truth. When this happens our thinking is being conformed to the Word of God. Our mind is being renewed and reconditioned to understand better the way our God thinks. When we are leading, we are fitting the Word of God into our thinking. Our mind is not being renewed; rather we are placing our thinking over God’s and wanting Him to agree with our point of view.
Father God, today we ask that You let the fire of the Holy Spirit fall on us in our heart and in our mind. Your Word is the lamp unto our feet, lighting our way in the darkness. Where our heart is there our treasure will be also. Lord, let us not be deceived any longer to the true treasure we all have at our disposal.
We break the bondage of misinformation and lies the world and the devil have sown in our minds to keep us from accepting and understanding Your Living Word for us today. Please, renew our mind and refresh our heart to yearn for Your wisdom and not our own. Thank You, LORD, for hearing the cry of our heart for You.  Amen
