Day 1

God’s love never fails.

Jeremiah 31:3(NLT)
Long ago the Lord said to Israel:
I have loved you with an everlasting love.
I have drawn you to me with loving-kindness.

Even though this statement is directed to Israel, it applies to all of God's children. As adopted sons and daughters, we too are grafted in to the seed of Abraham. It is interesting to note that in the Hebrew culture, an adopted son can never be disinherited, even though a natural born son can be.

This reflects the hope we each have that our God will never leave us or forsake us. This does not mean that we cannot forsake Him. As a Perfect Father, God is always there for us and willing to participate in all of our life circumstances, even the ones we have messed up all by ourselves.

We can trust God's loving-kindness toward us even when we are being disciplined. Our heavenly Father will never beat us up or call us names reflecting the errors of our choices. Instead, He holds out His hand and says, "Let us try it a different way this time." He is always willing to walk beside us and helps us in the trials of our life.

He knows it is not easy learning how to let go of who we think we are and be the son/ daughter He has made us to be. He never gives up on us as we learn a new way for a new day as we grow in the understanding of who we are. As we learn how to live our life in a way that shows respect for ourselves and others honors our God, the Father, who loves us completely just as we are.

Our Perfect Father loves us too much to let us remain as we are when we can be so much more. As we mature in our life and relationship, we actually begin to enjoy all of life on levels many of us have never thought would be possible for us. We can trust the goodness of our God who loves us so completely.

Today’s Reflection

What is the Holy Spirit saying to me…?

How does today’s message apply to my life?…my beliefs?
