I am able to overcome
all things in this world when I abide
in Jesus and He abides in me.
Revelation
21:5-7 (NASB) And He who sits
on the throne said, “Behold I am making all things new.” And He said, “Write,
for these words are faithful and true.” Then He said to me, “It is done, I am
the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who
thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. He who overcomes
will inherit these things, and I will Be His God and he will be My son.”
This is a consistent statement
throughout the Holy Bible, God’s autobiography, “I will be their God and they
will be my people.” It is from this point of view that we can let go of trying
to define the un-definable, the incomprehensible magnitude and wisdom of our
God and Creator. We can simply accept that our God has chosen us to be His
without qualification and without reservation on His part for us. Yes, we have
not become qualified and have not earned or even deserve to be included, from
our human understanding. Aren’t you glad
you or I aren’t God?
We are both a spiritual and physical
being operating in both realms at the same time, growing in God’s sense of
order. It is God’s biblical picture of man, a person with a physical body, an
unseen soul and an unseen spirit that gives us such a handicap. We cannot see
in the spiritual realm today, yet through Jesus we have authority to exercise
dominion in it. We can recognize that everything we do in the natural has an
effect on the spiritual and what we do in the spiritual effects the natural.
True spirituality is about drawing
closer to our God, becoming one with Him. God has already made His choice to
abide in us, the Holy Spirit living in us as a seal of sonship proving that we
belong to God and Him to us. Today we have hope, wisdom and power within us
defying the natural laws in our universe. We are not becoming God, but we are
becoming in tune with God and how He thinks and growing in understanding of His
perfect and divine plan for the partnership we each have been created to
participate in.
As we continue to spend quality time
with our God He will reveal our part in what we are to do with Him every day.
There is no such thing as not having obstacles, challenges both internal and
external to overcome as we experience living life to the fullest. The truth is
in a fallen world we will always have opportunities to demonstrate heaven on
earth through our circumstances. However, Jesus has overcome the world for us,
so that we can experience a life lived abundantly. We are a people set apart who will
never be left with having to be our own source in life again. May we always
remember that this life is an adventure. We are designed for discovery, to
uncover the truth. What we do with it is our choice for we are created as a
special treasure and to be a blessing in the world that makes a difference to
our fellow man. We are God’s ambassadors of truth, hope and life in a world
that is lost and without hope on their own.
