Devotional - Week 8

Day 40

I am able to overcome all things in this world
when I abide in Jesus and He abides in me.

Revelation 21:5-7 (NASB)
And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold I am making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” Then He said to me, “It is done, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost.

Day 39

It is good to be me!
I am becoming who my God created me to be.

1 Peter 4:7-11 (NLT)
The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be clear-minded and self-controlled so that you earnest and disciplined in your prayers. Most important of all, continue to show a deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a placed to stay.

God has given gifts to each of you from His great variety of spiritual gifts. Manage them well so that God’s generosity can flow through you.

Day 38

I have a future that is no longer determined
by the poor choices of my past.

Jeremiah 29:11-14 (NLT)
For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me in earnest, you will find me when you seek me. I will be found by you,” says the LORD.

What an awesome promise from our God. Even though He was talking to the people of Israel in captivity in Babylon we can accept that God’s Word is true and applies to us today.

Day 37

God knows exactly where I am at with Him.
He wants me to bereal and honest with Him.
Today is a brand new day.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (NASB)
There is an appointed time for everything.
And there is a time for every event under heaven--
A time to give birth and a time to die;
A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted.

Day 36

My God will never ask more of me than I have to give
nor will He ask me to do more than I can do.

2 Peter 1:3-4 (NLT)
As we know Jesus better, His divine power gives us everything we need for living a godly life. He has called us to receive His own glory and goodness! And by that same mighty power, He has given us all of His rich and wonderful promises. He has promised you that you will escape the decadence all around you caused by evil desires and that you will share in His divine nature.
