I lose the battle
with temptation in my mind first.
When I dwell on what tempts me, I’ve lost,
Corinthians 10:12,13 (NASB)
him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall. No temptation has
overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not
allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will
provide a way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.
Corinthians 10:14-18 (NLT)
I cannot live life to
the fullest independent of God. I choose life!
For those who
are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but
those who are according to the Spirit, the things according to the Spirit. For
the mind set on flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and
peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile to God; for it does not
subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and those
who are in the flesh cannot please God.
I am free of guilt
I am given mercy and grace for my poor choices.
is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit
of life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could
not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the
likeness of sinful flesh as an an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the
flesh, so that the requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not
walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
Sin is no longer my
I want to do what is right in my Fathers eyes.
Therefore do not
let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts, and do not go on
presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness;
but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as
instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not be your master over you,
for you are not under law but under grace.
I am dying to serving
myself, daily. I am one with Christ.
I am a saint of God.
What shall we
say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? May it never
be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? Or do you not know that all
of us have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore
we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was
raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in
the newness of life.
